At the Harrisville Christian Church we believe the responsibility of the church is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ in love to the local community and throughout the world. We commit ourselves to organizing, participating and supporting Christian organizations listed below. Please feel free to join us.
Devotional – The church supplies “The Daily Bread” devotion for anyone that desires one. Many are passed out to family members and shut-ins.
Youth – We offer a Children’s Church during the message time on Sunday for young children. We also offer a Youth Bible Discovery program on Thursday’s at 5:30 p.m. at the church. Our dedicated leaders in programs help reach the youth to grow in the knowledge of Jesus and how they should live for him wherever they are.
LIFT (Ladies In Faith Together) – This group of women meet the 3rd Saturday of every month (except the summer months) to plan special events for the church family, have a devotion and a snack. This includes potluck meals, fruit baskets during the Christmas season, harvest dinner, music, and road trip events. The meetings start at 10:00 a.m.
Men’s Tool Time – This group of men meet on the 2nd Saturday of every month to cook a breakfast, have devotional and prepare or do some work project around the church or at a home. We have been known to build steps to decks, side garages, install doors/windows, shovel snow off roofs, and whatever we seem to think we are capable of doing. The men meet at 8:00 a.m. at the church.
Blessing Meals – A small group of women prepare a monthly home cooked meal for about 35 shut-ins. Each meal is created and served with the love of God from our hearts. When the meals are delivered, we chat and pray with our friends.
Local Food Pantry – We financially support the Harrisville Food Pantry every month with a cash donation and supplies.
Watertown Salvation Army – We financially support with a yearly donation.
Samaritan’s Purse – We financially support with a yearly donation.
Operation Christmas Child – We fill shoeboxes with gifts which are sent to communities around the world as a one-time gift to youth to let them know that someone loves them and to share the gospel.
Harrisville Library Angel Tree – We support this program to help needy kids receive a gift during the Christmas season.
Kenya Inherit the Kingdom Missions – We support Ron and Jane Fraser, who live in Kenya, Africa preaching the Word to some very remote areas. They currently support 4 churches by training pastors, providing a meal each Sunday, run a youth Bible study and distribute tracks.
Global Partners – We support a missionary family in the NUNE area. They bring the Christian message to a very dominate Muslim area.
Baptisms – We agree full immersion water baptism are biblical. Acceptance of Jesus’ salvation is a prerequisite before baptism.
